Broker Training Course Launched Today

Community Glue was delighted to welcome guests from across Oxfordshire to the launch of our Peer Broker Training Course in Oxford this afternoon. We discussed the scheme over a light meal of salad and samosas, some of which we managed to barbecue despite the weather!

Keith Discusses the course with Dan Harris,

Champions Co-ordinator at My Life My Choice

Jon Hyslop spoke about why he and Keith had started Community Glue, and why they thought it was a good idea to develop a course for people with personal experience of serious illness or disability who wanted to train as Support Brokers. Keith Birnie reviewed the first run of the course last September, and explained why access to the course has now been widened to include people who want to broker for themselves, their friends or family members alongside those who ultimately want to become paid brokers. Finally Kate Hill from OCVA explained why the European Social Fund had decided to support another two intakes of the course.
