Peer Support Broker Forum

In autumn 2011, we ran Oxfordshire's first 'peer broker' training course. The course has since run again, and we now also offer an ongoing forum for people who have completed the course, and for other people working as support brokers who have experience as a 'service user' or 'carer'. People who have used services themselves (or cared for someone else who does) have a wealth of experience and expertise that they can draw upon to help others facing similar difficulties. A 'peer support broker' is someone who draws from their own experience to work as a support broker.

The forum is intended for anyone working as a 'peer support broker' (whether they're being paid for it or just helping out a friend or family member). We're not prescriptive about how the meetings work; we come with a topic prepared, but then decide how we use the time as a group. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME - we may not be able to accommodate people who just turn up on the day.

Meetings usually take place at the Old Music Hall,  Community Glue's (mostly) wheelchair accessible premises on Oxford's Cowley Road.

There are no dates over the summer, but we'll be booking up more sessions at times, dates and venues to suit from September 2013
